MAKING ALCOHOL-FREE A PART OF THE PARTY
Helping organisations support their people and the freedom to choose alcohol-free

Helping organisations support their people and the freedom to choose alcohol-free

Knot For Me began as a social movement.
It's now an inclusion standard.
Our purpose is to normalise and support the freedom to choose alcohol-free — and to give organisations a practical way to make that visible.
Whether it's for just tonight, for a season, or a lifetime, we exist to make choosing not to drink simple, inclusive, respected, and celebrated — at every event, in every workplace.
Simple — the Knot symbol says it for you. No explaining. No justifying. Just a clear, quiet signal that alcohol is not for me.
Inclusive — we partner with organisations to embed alcohol-free inclusion into their events, culture, and Respect@Work obligations.
Respected — the symbol means no pressure, no questions, no awkward conversations. From anyone.
Celebrated — making alcohol-free a part of the party, not apart from it.
Today, Knot For Me is embedded within corporate organisations as a practical, preventative inclusion tool — supporting psychological safety, reducing psychosocial risk, and helping People & Culture teams meet their positive duty under Respect@Work.
With Knot For Me, you can say it clearly — without having to say a word.

Refusing alcohol at social events shouldn't be awkward. Yet the pressure to explain why still lingers.
"Are you driving?" .... "Just one won't hurt!" ....."Are you pregnant?"
These aren't just uncomfortable moments — in a workplace context, they're foreseeable psychosocial risks. And under Respect@Work, organisations now have a positive duty to prevent them.
Our mission is to support anyone choosing alcohol-free — whether it's just for tonight, for a season, or a lifetime — and to give workplaces a practical way to make that choice visible, respected, and protected.
We started as a movement to change social culture. We're now an inclusion tool helping corporate Australia meet its obligations — at every event, for every employee.
Knot For Me is not anti-alcohol. We want to make alcohol-free a part of the party. And we want to make it easy for organisations to show they've considered everyone — not just the drinkers.

Knot For Me was founded by Natalie O'Brien — an idea sparked from experiences early in her alcohol-free journey.
"Being newly sober, I found so many situations difficult to navigate. Not just declining alcohol at social events, but the awkwardness that followed — the pressure, the questions, and the expectation that saying 'no' needed an explanation.
The fact is, no one needs to explain why they choose to say 'not for me.'
Knot For Me began with the help of some very creative friends. What started as a personal mission has grown into something I never expected — a practical inclusion tool now embedded within corporate organisations across Australia.
Today, I work with People & Culture teams to help them create psychologically safe events, meet their Respect@Work obligations, and show their people that everyone is considered — not just the drinkers.
In my years of sobriety, my hope hasn't changed. It's just grown. I want to help create a culture where choosing alcohol-free doesn't require courage — it just requires a symbol."
Just for tonight, for a season, or a lifetime — Knot For Me promotes a culture where the freedom to choose alcohol-free is simple, respected, inclusive, and celebrated.
What began as a personal symbol is now an inclusion standard.

The Knot For Me symbol comes in three forms — a stylish lapel pin, stickers for casual events, and coasters for sit-down occasions. Each one communicates the same clear message: "Alcohol is not for me."

Inspired by the colour of the amethyst crystal which has been long linked with sobriety and healing since medieval times, the image of the knot is a symbol of strength and protection.
Tied tightly, the knot often has been used to represent a promise to oneself or a reminder and gets stronger every time it is used.
We are looking for early adopters to join us for this social movement - please get in touch if you would like to be one of the first to help launch KNOT FOR ME.
